Andrei is a software engineering leader with more than 21 years of experience in the industry. They have been focused on building and scaling engineering teams for the past ten years, driving technology and product growth. Andrei has diverse expertise in Industrial IoT, consumer wearable, and smartphone markets and a passion for delivering building complex solutions.

As a Head of Software Engineering at PIQ, fast-paced sports technology startup, Andrei steered the development of PIQ Robot, an EdgeAI-powered wearable device for sports. Andrei and his team invented technologies and solutions to provide real-time insights and performance tracking for sports activities based on advanced sensor processing technology and machine learning algorithms. Andrei is a co-author of three international patents in the field of inertial sensors data processing and their appliance for sports activities.

As the former CTO of Octonion SA, a company specializing in Edge AI technology, Andrei has extensive experience developing and deploying advanced solutions leveraging artificial intelligence's power at the Edge. They led teams of developers, engineers, and managers in complex Industrial IoT projects powered by Tiny ML. Andrei proudly mentions that Gartner recognized Octonion as a "Tech Innovator in Edge AI" in 2020.

Recently, Andrei joined Splunk, the data platform leader for security and observability (SIEM), as Director of Engineering. They are in charge of expanding a globally diverse software engineering team for the critical product direction, namely acquiring data from customers' infrastructure for further analysis within the platform.
